We’ve literally just left winter but already the summer festival season is hotting up, with the first act locked in for Sydney’s New Year’s Day institution, Field Day.

In announcing an extensive American tour overnight, American rap crew Run The Jewels (El-P and Killer Mike) outlined details of their already-announced visit for Falls Festival, but also revealed sideshow dates and their appearance on Field Day.

The killer duo will play Lorne Falls on the 30th December, Marion Bay on New Year’s Eve, bring in 2015 at Field Day in Sydney, then trek up to Byron Bay on January 2 before ending their festival run at Southbound. They have also locked in three Aussie sideshows with Joey Bada$$.

Their new album RTJ2 is due for release in October (cover art above). Based purely on the calibre of their debut record, the album will be one of the year’s best rap releases; but on the back of announcing the LP will feature Zack de la Rocha (Rage Against The Machine) and Travis Barker (Blink 182), and letting loose first single ‘Blockbuster Night Part One,’ RTJ2 is a certified must-listen.
